At the heart of Mollie Bigley Studio is founder and principal, Mollie Bigley, MArch, AIA. Mollie is a licensed architect in Massachusetts and a member of both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Institute of Bermuda Architects (IBA). Known for creating homes that feel authentic, grounded, and deeply personal, Mollie approaches every project with a belief that comfort is rooted in memory, history, and familiarity.
The Mollie Bigley Studio team sat down with Mollie to learn more about her vision, the Studio’s evolution, and what lies ahead.
Your work is rooted in tradition while designed for modern living. How would you describe your design philosophy?
I’ve always been drawn to traditional Bermuda architecture and the way it connects us to place and history. Referencing those traditional Bermuda styles allows us to create homes that feel timeless and authentic. But they also need to function for how people live today. For me, comfort is about the familiar – spaces that evoke memory and feel natural to the people that inhabit them.
Why did you feel now was the right time to reposition and refresh the brand?
We’re always looking for ways to evolve. As a studio, we’re growing, developing, and becoming more knowledgeable with every project. It felt important that our brand reflects that evolution, not with a dramatic change, but with a thoughtful refinement. Keeping the brand fresh ensures it continues to represent who are and the level of expertise we bring to our work.
What are your biggest hopes and aspirations for 2026 and beyond?
My biggest goal is simple: to continue being a better service provider to our clients. That means continuing to listen carefully, refining our processes, and delivering thoughtful, well-executed work. Architecture and design is deeply collaborative, and I want our clients to feel supported and understood at every stage.
Are there any specific design trends or ideas you’re particularly excited about right now?
We’re always discovering new ideas and materials. What excites me most is finding products and solutions that truly serve the Bermuda market, like materials that perform well in the climate while maintaining a sense of timelessness. Whether we’re shaping a new home from the earliest stages of a home build or guiding a thoughtful refurbishment, we approach each project with careful consideration. The focus is never on trends for their own sake. Whether it's starting a new home entirely from scratch, imagining a bathroom remodel, refining kitchen ideas or developing custom finishes, we make choices that will endure and genuinely enhance the way our clients live.
